I'm a solo dev and just open-sourced Scrib Desktop — a simple encrypted text editor for Windows. My goal was Notepad + WordPad + encryption.

AES-256-CBC with PBKDF2 (100k iterations), no accounts, no cloud. Opens 12 file formats (.txt, .rtf, .md, .json, .xml, .yaml, .csv, .log, .ini, .cfg, .scrb). Rich text and plain text with per-tab toggle. Multi-tab with per-tab colors, fonts, and sizes. Find & Replace across all tabs. Auto-save, drag-and-drop, dark/light themes.

    Built with Flutter/Dart. Licensed GPL-3.0.

I originally built the Android version (Scrib) as a privacy-first notes app. This is the desktop companion — same philosophy, same encryption, just for Windows.

Would love feedback on the encryption approach or anything else. Thanks for looking!
