    A temporary win for the taxi lobby, though I expect this will be reversed one way or another in the next year or two.

    Still a sad outcome for now. People will die because of this decision.

    Almost a decade ago GM Cruise made a big deal of rolling out in NY and had a garage there for a while, but they never got permission to test/operate their vehicles autonomously and eventually left.

    Dozens of cities would happily roll out the red carpet for a robotaxi service but, like Cruise, Waymo doesn't want dozens of other cities they want New York.
